Making the settings clear

Two connection types. One simple guide.

IPoE

Automatic IP means the router gets its address for you.

Your router may call this setting Automatic IP, DHCP or IPoE. For Carbon NBN, ABB Direct NBN and OptiComm, choose that automatic connection type. A PPPoE login is not required.

A Static IP describes the address assigned to your service. It does not mean you should switch your router to a manual or “Static IP” WAN connection setting.

PPPoE

A service username and password connect Neoloop.

Choose PPPoE for Neoloop and use the username and password emailed to you on activation. Do not use your Wi-Fi password or Customer Portal login in those fields.

If your service is activated and you cannot find the email, check your junk or spam folder. Still need help? Call Technical Support using the number below.

Before changing your router: check your service type and follow your activation instructions. Leave other advanced settings unchanged unless Carbon Comms Technical Support gives you specific guidance.
